The Loosdrechtse Plassen are perfect for taking a refreshing dip. The water is about two meters deep, and the bottom consists of peat and is quite turbid. Around the Loosdrechtse Plassen, there are plenty of islands to sunbathe and walk by the water. You may also enter the water from the boat in some areas.

How fast can you sail on the Loosdrechtse Plassen?

On the Loosdrechtse Plassen, the maximum speed limit you may travel by boat is 12 km/hour, this applies to the open water. Within one hundred meters of the shoreline, you should never sail faster than 6 km/hour.  Along the waterline, the speed limit is often clearly marked.
